David D. Vande Velde - Philosophical Bend
Excuse Me

For someone this day begins.
For someone this day it ends.
It's like perfect symmetry in poetry,
and you know
it's like the motion
it's so cliche
it's like the motion in the Ocean.
it's just another day...

And the notes they change
right on time with the feel.
'Cause you know sometimes
this life is way too real.
Where you've been you can't believe
and where you're going,
you never get to know,
you never get to know.

Still for someone this day begins.
For someone this day it ends.
It's like perfect symmetry in poetry,
and you know it's like the motion
it's so cliche
it's like the motion in the Ocean.
it's just another day

And the waves they crash
against our bow so hard.
Still we reach for the sky
and try to turn our cards.
And we reach out for forever
from the here and now,
and all that means...

think about it
and all that means...

For someone this day will end.
And one drop gone is one gone my friend.
I guess it's perfect symmetry in poetry,
but it's sad.
so excuse me,

excuse me,

excuse me,

excuse me.
